Leadership Continuum Scholarship

The purpose of the Leadership Continuum Scholarship Fund is to encourage and foster Undergraduate interest and participation in the Sigma Phi Epsilon Leadership Continuum by helping to off-set some or all of the costs associated with registration and travel to Carlson Leadership Academies, Grand Chapter Conclave, Ruck Leadership Institute, and Quest to Greece.

All Undergraduate members of the Nebraska Beta Chapter who are in good-standing are eligible for this scholarship fund.  Each member receiving a scholarship agrees as a condition of this scholarship to prepare a summary to present to the Alumni and Volunteer Corporation (“AVC”) discussing the experience and keys topics to be presented to the Undergraduate Chapter.  The presentation to the AVC must occur at its next scheduled meeting following the event.  The presentation to the Undergraduate Chapter must take place no more than 14 days following the event at any regular or special meeting of the Chapter.  Each member receiving a scholarship also agrees to write an article for the Beta Times newsletter of no less than one page in length and including no less than one photo from the event.

Any member seeking a scholarship for an event must complete and submit the application form below no less than 60 days prior to the event.  A separate application must be submitted for each event.

The Nebraska Beta AVC shall review all applications, and select the recipient(s) by way of a two-thirds vote of the Officers and Directors of the AVC.  All disbursements for awarded scholarships shall be made directly to the vendor(s) by the AVC Director of Finance.

Should a scholarship recipient be unable to attend the event, the recipient shall immediately notify the Director of Finance.  The recipient may be subject to repayment of any funds received at the discretion of the Director of Finance and confirmed by a two-thirds vote of the Officers and Directors of the AVC.

A recipient shall be considered in violation of their scholarship, and billed for the total amount awarded if any of the following occurs:

·         The recipient fails to attend the event
·         The recipient fails to make a presentation to the AVC
·         The recipient fails to make a presentation to the Undergraduate Chapter
·         The recipient fails to submit an article and photo for inclusion in the Beta Times newsletter
